Using insurance often requires sharing your personal information with third parties, increasing the risk of breaches. Additionally, a mental health diagnosis could be disclosed during background checks for jobs, undermining the confidentiality that is crucial for effective therapy.
Many clients don’t need a formal mental health diagnosis, but insurance frequently requires one for coverage. This can exclude individuals who could benefit from therapy for issues not classified as mental illnesses in the DSM, such as postpartum challenges.
Insurance companies also limit the number of sessions and the frequency of therapy, which can leave clients feeling disempowered and vulnerable. We believe clients should collaborate with their therapists to determine their treatment needs. If life changes occur, like a loss, we can adjust our focus without needing prior approval.
With us, you’re not just a number; your unique needs guide your treatment.

You can start by requesting a phone consult with your therapist to get to know each other and assess compatibility for a therapeutic relationship. During the first month of therapy, check in on how you feel—are you comfortable? Does the therapist's approach align with your goals? If something feels off, discuss it with your therapist; they’re there to help you find a better match. If it feels right, you can continue your work together. Our team is dedicated to ensuring you find the right care.
